Verses of Light 2025

The Verses of Light are the verses Allah bestowed upon mankind through the last Prophet (PBUH) as guidance. They are compiled as the Quran, a holy book that must be read with keen introspection, and be recited melodiously following the perfect rules that have been laid out for the purpose.

Verses of Light, the Quranic Recitation competition seeks out the talented among the young Hifz (memorizers of the Quran) living in Bangladesh. Different from other recitation reality competitions, Verses of Light allowed female participation for the first time ever in a show within the country to ensure that women do not go undignified and ignored. Participants flocked to auditions for a chance to show their vocal prowess and to earn the respected winner title, a label of success on earth, but also success in the life hereafter, Allah willing.

The Quran is an introspective book more than anything else, and those who dwell in it hope to navigate its message through the various dimensions of the heart to reach the Light.

We took inspiration from architecture modern islamic and western architecture in the hopes of representing a contemporary image of Islamic art, architecture, and philosophy.
